Catherine Verbeem

Catherine Marcella Verbeem, a cherished matriarch and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at the Leduc Community Hospital. Born on June 17, 1934, in Chatham, Ontario, she filled the world with warmth, kindness, and grace until her final breath. Catherine will be remembered for her nurturing spirit and her green thumb, which flourished in her love for flower gardening-a hobby that reflected her gentle nurturing of life and beauty.

Catherine's love extended far and wide, enveloping her family in a tapestry of affection and support. She was the devoted mother of her sons, Joseph (Marianne), John, and James (Pamela), as well as her daughter, Candi-Jo Verbeem (John). Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren alongside her beloved great-grandchildren. Each of these lives carries a part of her essence, her laughter, and her boundless love.

Catherine was predeceased by her cherished husband, Leonard Verbeem, who shared many of life's beautiful moments with her, and his absence is felt deeply in the hearts of all who knew them together.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Catherine's remarkable life during her funeral service to be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Thorsby, Alberta, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, beginning at 1:00 PM, followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Warburg. It will undoubtedly be a gathering filled with love, reminiscence, and shared stories, honoring a woman who, throughout her years, touched so many lives with her warmth and compassion.

As we say farewell to Catherine Marcella Verbeem, let us carry forth her legacy of love, kindness, and an appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us, ever reminiscent of the flowers she so lovingly tended.
